Top 10 Money Makers in the Music Industry

Billboard and Forbes magazines have both announced their lists of 'Highest paid musicians' and 'Top Earning Women in Music' respectively. With some very surprising mentions (at least for us in UK), the two lists are topped by familiar names.

	1- Madonna Earning a staggering amount of $34.6m last year, Madonna stands on top the official Billboard rankings.
	2- Bruce Springsteen $33.4m made last year make him the highest earning male musician of last year, and #2 in Billboard's list of top money makers for the year.
	3- Roger Waters $21.2m in earnings with a hugely successful tour ranks them 3rd in Billboard's list.
	4- Van Halen $20.2m earned even when they had to cancel 32 shows due to exhaustion! #4
	5- Kenny Chesney This American country music icon managed to rake in $19.1m last year and the 5th position in Billboard's list owing largely to the tours.
	6- Dave Matthews Band They made $18.9m with $41m coming from just 41 shows. The band also sold nearly 700,000 units in US last year. #6
	7- Tim McGraw $18.3m earned, out of which 88% was made through concerts. #7
	8- Jason Aldean The $17.6m earned this year out of which 73.3% was earned through tours is a good example of proper management skills. He ranks at #8.
	9- Coldplay Around $17.3m netted this year with $13.9m in revenue alone, ranks the band at #9 in Billboard's list.
	10- Justin Bieber With around $16m that included $2.6m in physical sale of albums, the new-age teen heartthrob makes his presence at 10th spot of Billboard's rankings.
